Questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The PDF is assembled in this page using pdf-lib running in your browser. Your images are read into memory, written into a PDF, and handed back as a download. Nothing is transmitted and nothing is stored, which matters because this is exactly the tool people use for passports, bank letters and signed forms.
What does "Fit to image" do?
Each page is made exactly the size of its image, so nothing is cropped and there are no empty borders. Choose A4, Letter or Legal instead when the PDF has to be printed or submitted to a system that expects a standard paper size.
Why is my PDF larger than the images?
PNG images are stored losslessly inside the PDF, which can be bulky for photographs. Lower the quality slider, which re-encodes images as JPG at the chosen level, or start from JPG files. A page of scanned text usually looks fine around 70 to 80 percent.
Can I add more images after creating a PDF?
Yes. The list stays as it is after you download, so you can add more, reorder, change settings and create another PDF without starting again.
What happens to image metadata?
Images are re-encoded before being embedded, so EXIF data such as GPS coordinates and camera details does not carry into the PDF. If you need to keep metadata, this is not the right tool.
